Where is Our Future

It is becoming apparent that the Civil Servants are having a greater influence on the Brexit negotiations than the Brexit favoured MP’s in spite of what the referendum result was.

Who are these people who ignore the electorate?
Perhaps they should consider who they are responsible to as well as where their future could lie.
Are civil servants responsible to  their ministers or do their loyalties lie elsewhere?

It is time that the Conservative Prime Minister acts like one, and not as a person who tries to please everyone. She should remember the voters still count and they can see who is pulling the strings.

Are the Conservatives a Business?

It is becoming apparent that the Conservatives Hierarchy  are treating their Party as a business with the Grass Roots Party Members as stock.

They are considering changing to a centralised stock control system where the members are going to be controlled by and pay their subs to the Central Office. Where will that leave the Local Associations?

If there isn’t enough stock for that local area (Members) there will be a request to amalgamate with a neighbouring larger Association. This seems the same as if a business branch doesn’t generate enough business it will be closed down and the stock moved to a neighbouring branch.

Naturally there will be a Website for the members, but will it be a two tier one with a level for Grass Roots and a higher level for Privileged Members? What on earth happened to democracy?

It used to be that the Conservative were all friends working together that seems to have disappeared.

E U Exit?

At last the referendum has a date, now be prepared to be inundated with misleading and scaremongering stories and supposed facts.

How many remember when De Gaul said no to our entry? (He wasn’t treated at all well by the Allies during WW2)
He was also frightened that we would take away some of his glory.

The United Kingdom joined the European Economic Community on the 1st January 1973, in those days we were told it was a trading group.
We were misled both by Wilson and Heath.
I wonder if we will be able to get some true facts this time, I doubt it? At least thanks to the World Wide Web we are better able to do some research.

If we had control of our own borders at least we would be able to police them properly, yes it would be at a price, but it would be well worth it. We would also be able to plan the usage of our facilities better and have a good idea of how many houses would be required long term as well as plan the better usage of the NHS.

All I can say is if you are going to vote in the referendum do your research, don’t believe all that you are told by either group and remember that we as a nation have friends and relatives all over the world, even if we abandoned some of them when we joined the EU. Lets hope they are forgiving.

China is one of the largest importers of Rolls Royce Cars, also think of how much we import from China and the Far East. The Call Centers are also outside of the EU, so even now we do not depend on the EU for everything.

It would be interesting to make a list of everything the EU insisted we change even when we didn’t want to.  I bet it would be a large one. By the same token some good things have come from the EU so it will not be an easy decision to make.

Does Cameron Trust the Grassroots?

With all the dodges that Cameron is dreaming up to diminish the influence of the Conservative Grassroots it is becoming apparent that there is a deep & ingrained mistrust of the Conservative Association members.

If it hadn’t been for the objections of some of the Conservative Board members as well as some Conservative MP’s the number of Associations would have been reduced from approx. 650 to around 50.
Now it appears that a new rule will be that if an Association has fewer than 200 members they will have to investigate amalgamating with another Association. It is ironic when you realize that the reason for the reduction in the number of Conservative Members appears to be Cameron himself. He told his MP’s to ignore their Association members when voting for the EU Referendum i.e. they didn’t count.
The only Leader to try to increase the power of the Associations was William Hague in 1997, that soon got shelved when he lost the Leadership.
In all the other major political parties the active membership has more influence on their party politics than the Conservative Party. Why?

What has happened to British Politics? The major parties appear to be poorly led.

Where are we going

I was listening to a politician on the Television this morning and as usual he was not capable of giving a straight answer to a question. I wonder if that is in part of the training that new MP’s receive?

We are now in the scare mongering phase of the Referendum the result could well lie in the group who could frighten the electorate most.

Are you easily frightened or are you going to study the facts?

In out shake it all about.

I see that David Cameron is hedging his bets, is he saying that with the possibility of tight border controls in the E.U. the need for holding back on benefit payments for immigrants is no longer a requirement? It certainly seems to me that he has found a get out, whether we believe it or not that is a different thing.
He knew that it would be a difficult thing to get past the E.U. Commission, but as a vote catcher he was on to a good thing. Also when he put it forward the immigrant crisis wasn’t there.

On the subject of immigrants I have never understood the fact that an immigrant worker can say that he has ten children in his own country and he will get paid a child allowance for all of them, their word is taken on trust (that is if they can speak English.) is yours?

Jeremy Corbyn the Labour leader appears to be of the opinion that what the people of the Falkland Islands feel & think doesn’t matter. His believe appears to be that no matter what the Islanders think there should be a shared control with Argentina. I wonder what his thoughts are on the Balearic Islands, or even Sardinia, Rhodes and the Isle of Man.

EU Referendum

I see that it is perfectly alright to for the United Kingdom Ministers to praise the European Union, but if they wish to make a statement criticizing it they are in trouble.

This once again proves my previous statement that this country is run under a form of Dictatorship. (Do as I wish or resign your post). It also means that pro European Union comments are funded by the Government.
The vote samples seem to be showing that the Exit lobby is winning the vote, I wonder what Cameron will produce to show how wrong we all are?
Perhaps the possible closing of borders due to the Rape and assault of German Women by immigrants has caused  their government to think again.
It shows that the mixing of different cultures can in some instances lead to major problems. Were these people from the criminal element in their home Countries?
Is this the reason that they left or were they driven out?
Checks should be made on all immigrants as a matter of course. Also the return of proven criminals to their homeland should be expedited.

If only we had a Government that does what it says. But then aren’t all Governments the same, there is always an excuse not to do what was promised.

Schooling

Some teachers say that School exam timetables should avoid clashes with Ramadan. They say that sitting exams during a fasting period could effect the results.

It is strange that the majority of students have been taking exams successfully before.

Are the teachers setting up an excuse before the exams so that if the students are not as successful as they should be there is a built in excuse, hence it is not the teachers fault.

What comes next, students do not work so well in the mornings when they are still half asleep, they should only take exams in the afternoon?

Some students perform badly in exams, they should be excused sitting them?

The list is endless.

I wonder how we all managed in the past?

Global Warming

Is global warning a new thing or has global warming along with floods and natural catastrophes been taking place over a very hundreds of years.

How many people have heard of “Chandlers Wobble”? Chandler was an American Astronomer (Seth Carlo Chandler) who discovered in the 1800s that the world wobbled on its axis similar to a slowing down toy top.

This wobble effects the tidal system of the oceans which in its turn effects the wind and weather.

  • In October 1091 there was a Tornado in London.
  • In 1607 there were the Bristol Channel floods which caused the deaths of over 2,000 people  also sweeping many settlements away.
  • In November/December  1703 there was the great storm in Southern England with Hurricane strength winds. There were up to 15,000 deaths ships lost and damage to buildings and trees.

Of course there were many other natural disasters, floods, droughts, avalanches, Volcanoes, earthquakes etc.

The great buffalo herds of North America generated a vast amount of methane gas as do other animals even humans (Mind you there is a whole species of humans who are known to generate hot air, guess who? ). It seems to me that what ever happens pollution will always be there all we can try and do is to limit the amount.

Do we really understand what effect the Sun Spots and Sun Flares have on this planet? At one time it was agreed that sun flares influenced the temperatures here. I know that they cause radiation increases, but what other unseen effects are there?

How Should we Vote?

If we vote for an MP who was subsequently elected have we the right to insist that he casts his vote in Parliament to match his election manifesto or do we expect his loyalties to change as climbs the greasy pole into a cabinet office.

In other words do we accept that he vote in line with the collective responsibilities of Cabinet and Prime Minister ignoring his own electorate and promises?

To me this smacks as a form of Dictatorship or at least bought votes.

Should the MP resign from office to keep to the word of his manifesto?

Have you thought that perhaps the increase in salary would then have on his vote? Would his Wife/Husband/Partner allow him to resign and lose the privileges of office?

Is an MP a representative or a delegate?

It certainly is an interesting question, who has the answer?
